Bail-out points for the 2010 Tour

If you can’t continue with the race, move off the course and wait for a sweep vehicle, or stop at any of the following official bail-out points:

1. Refreshment Station 2 - Alphen Constantia

2. Refreshment Station 3 - end of Blue Route

3. Refreshment Station 4 - on Old Boyes Drive link to Main Road

4. Dido Valley Road, Simon’s Town, immediately before Naval Gunnery School

5. Refreshment Station 9 - Perdekloof – Red Hill

6. Refreshment Station 12 - Noordhoek side of Chapman’s Peak

7. First Traffic Circle in Hout Bay, corner of Princess and Main Roads

Sweep vehicles will be patrolling the route, and will collect people from the points listed above before the end of the event. The main sweep convoy will follow the last cyclists and constitutes the event cut-off. Cyclists who decide not to make use of the sweep vehicle will be advised that they are no longer officially part of the event, and that there will be no further support services for them, and that they proceed at their own risk as the roads will be reopened to traffic.

If you have to bail before you reach Simon's Town it would be best to catch a train back to Cape Town CBD, especially if you have left a car or friends there. If you are staying in the southern suburbs, catch a train to the station nearest to where you are staying and get collected from there. Alternatively, leave the route and arrange for friends or relatives to collect you away from the cycle route, there are many collection options as far as Fish Hoek.
